Durango Herald Signs Agreement for Brainworks Advertising, AR, Web, CRM and Circulation System

The fully integrated 45 user system will be jointly used by the Durango Herald, Cortez Journal, Dolores Star and Mancos Times.

Sayville, Long Island, November, 2009 – Brainworks Software, the leading provider of newspaper advertising and circulation systems for North America has announced the agreement for a classified, retail and web advertising, accounts receivable, CRM and circulation system with the Durango Herald of Durango, CO. The family-owned group publishes The Durango Herald, a daily newspaper with circulation of 9,400, The Cortez Journal (circulation: 6,900) along with two weeklies, the Dolores Star and the Mancos Times. The newspaper group is owned by the Ballantine family of Durango, CO.

The Herald and the Journal are highly respected newspapers that understand the key roles advanced advertising and circulation systems play as newspapers tackle the challenges of finding new sources of revenue. The Herald has won numerous awards, given by entities such as the Society of Professional Journalists,[3] the Colorado Associated Press Reporters and Editors, and the Colorado Press Association.

The installation is scheduled to get underway this quarter and is planned to complete in the first part of 2010. Brainworks is replacing an APT advertising and circulation system.

Products include fully integrated classified and display advertising, billing, accounts receivable, contract and credit management, classified pagination, ROP ad layout, editorial and editorial pagination, and a state-of-the art Sales Force Automation system supporting Web and Palm OS platforms.
