CircSmart "Goes Live" in Jamaica

The Gleaner – Jamaica’s oldest and largest English newspaper
now “LIVE” on Brainworks CircSmart Circulation System!

Sayville, Long Island, June, 2009 – Brainworks Software, the leading provider of newspaper advertising and circulation systems for North America has announced that The Gleaner in Kingston, Jamaica is now “LIVE” on CircSmart as their new circulation and subscriber system.

The Gleaner, a daily newspaper with a circulation of 115,000 is published by The Gleaner Company. The Daily Gleaner, founded in 1834, is the oldest daily newspaper in the Caribbean. The Brainworks system replaces a PBS circulation system. CircSmart was selected as the new circulation system because of its unique ability to handle the Jamaican circulation business model. Unlike US-based newspapers that rely significantly on home delivery subscribers, The Gleaner is almost 80% single-copy sales and relies heavily on an extensive distributor/wholesaler network.
Burchell Gibson, The Gleaner Circulation Manager, expressed his thoughts on the implementation; “…your individual and collective efforts have taken us to this I deemed a most important point in our working activities of the Department's Circulation System and again I express gratitude for your continuous help.” Gibson added that The Gleaner will be able to not only better manage their circulation operations with CircSmart, but they will also be able to better target advertising inserts and pre-prints thanks to the integrated mapping capability of CircSmart.
